I hate April Fools Day

Postby Kezza » Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:23 am

Don't know about any of you, but i hate 1st April. 12 hours devoted to lying and causing embarrassment to people all in the name of supposed 'fun'. What's the point?

Also every year there is always at least 1 fake news story produced. Trouble is i'm so cynical that i can't honestly always tell which one it is.

Kezza, I so agree. I find myself giving warning to co-workers and family to beware of pranksters on this day.

1 fake news story? Most major outlets will post a fake story :p

I don't like the news posting fake stories but I do like some of the creative things out there from big businesses :p

YouTube's textP video mode is pretty cool lol

I've had to endure many St. Patrick's Days, being Irish and all. This was the first year that I've been outside of my homeland for it actually. Green, Guinness, and leprechauns - That's what defines Irish in the eyes of the world it seems. One of the worst days of my life was actually either a St. Patrick's Day parade or an Easter Day parade in my hometown back in Ireland.

On this year's April Fools' Day, there was no-one tricking me or telling lies. In fact, I was in the lab diluting DNA and then measuring it's concentration.

I've never really been pranked except by a radio station that freaked me out a couple years ago when it said Courtney Love was going to remake all of Nirvana's music. They had a sound bit that sounded like a diseased drunk stripper shrieking Bloom lyrics... I was upset.

I never got pinched on St. Patrick's Day either.

It's Halloween that always wreaks havoc around here...
Lots of tricky ghosts, if you know what I mean.

I love surrealism so I love Halloween, not another day of the year like it. What other day could you see a zombie driving a car and other such creatures of the night roaming around :p

Is it? - Still, that's no use because I don't have a clue what day Hallowe'en is anyway. I have a feeling that it's either the 21st or 27th October, but I don't really care to be honest. Back home in Ireland, there are very few kids who go trick or treating because parents are afraid of paedophiles and kidnappers, such is the fear that exists now. If there is a kid going around trick or treating, then he/she will most likely be with an elder sibling or parent.
