Hee hee, fun stuff! :D

I'm politics-impaired and don't know diddly about most of it...but apparently, I'm a crazy left-wing liberal.

Yay me!

I'm a 'centrist' apparently:

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 50%
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 40%

You Americans and your politics... ...when will you learn that using a 'tag' (i.e. liberal, conservative, etc) goes against the very thing Democracy tries to bring. When you use tags, your views can genuinely become skewed - i.e. you might follow some law that you otherwise wouldn't. For example, saying "I'm Kevin", as opposed to "I'm Kevin the conservative" can bring different results.

I'm a "statist."

That's a bit broad, since you could use that term for extremes of either side of the spectrum.

Glad you guys enjoyed it.

I was 80% / 80%, smack-dab in the middle of the Libertarian square. Didn't surprise me. :)

What do you think Democracy tries to bring? And since when have you been under the impression that the American system of government (or any other) is a democracy or even particularly democratic? Then again, you're from Britain, where you're told that your system is a democracy (lol), which makes the term even worse-defined. (virtually no sovereign state has been governed by true democracy since Athens)

Meh, democracy is overrated anyway, since it puts more focus on the process than the actual decisions . . . any decision is right if it is "democratic." Even if it's terrible. There is a perfect example of this, but mentioning it would kill the thread probably, so I won't.

Democracy is supposed to bring - essentially - freedom of mind, expression, etc. When you use a 'tag' such as liberal, people are 'told' what to think, instead of actually having that freedom that democracy is supposed to bring. I'm not from Britain at all, thankfully, as I was born in Ireland and lived there for 26 years and 6 months. I'm now 27.
