I think that they are 'pork scrtachings' or something? I had never seen them in Ireland, but they sound tasty. CAn you seriously buy apples by the 100? I would buy them like that if I could, because I must go through 100 pieces of fruit in a matter of weeks. It's shocking to imagine the amount of food that passes through our guts, and most isn't used by our body at all.

Pork rinds - is that what you're talking about? They got real popular a few years ago when everyone was doing that Atkin's diet.

Food service operations HAVE to buy in bulk like that. Oragnes come 88 to a case. Tomatoes in 25 # cases. Bannanas in 25 # cases.

Ah yes, Wikipedia says that they are called Pork Cracklings here in the UK, and that sounds familiar. I could just go into the kitchen to seee what's written on the packet but I don't feel like doing that. I did notice two other words on the packet when I bought them though: 'Pub food'. I guess that's an indication of how healthy they will be... ... :D

I had a coupon. Buy one whopper, get one free. That should last me all day.

Chucky wrote:How much is fruit there? In Ireland, the cheapest fruit was, like, 6 apples for 2 Euro. In England, I have noticed that it's much cheaper and I can get around 8 or 10 apples for 1.50 pounds.

I checked last night. Oranges are going for $1 a piece now.

Nicely put... ...I'll let you know what the taste like tomorrow. I just realised actually that the packet isn't transparent. So, I'm thinking that they probably look like little pieces of $#%^, and that only drunks would buy them. I bought them in a pub-type place in the village near my university.

How can an orange cost £1 Parador? ...or a dollar, I mean

The price goes up at certain times of the year. I never buy them so I don't usually notice.
