Oh I didnt mention, I am sure everyone has heard of Crater Lake. Basically a volcano. Yeah thats crater lake. The trek was about 7.2 miles total. Took 2 hours to make it to the top. About 1000 feet vertical difference from the start to the turn around point at the top. Ending elevation was 8050 feet.
Yeah I live in Klamath Falls so it is like a hour away. It is amazing that over about 30 miles you go from traces of snow to anywhere from 7ft average to 12ft.
The high res. photo's are way better! Photo's from up there have consistently taken my desktop background for the last several months.
