I assume you haven't read Dr Sleep.

Which is actually to the Shining in case you didn't know.

Sadly Jack doesn't get reanimated by our friends at the Pet Sematary. Stuff like that always happens in Steven King novels. Like in Mr Mercedes talk about that "movie about a clown that's from outerspace"

Correct. I haven't, Dreamcatcher really was such a disappointment. I kinda gave up on Mr. King after that, uhm, apparently it's been a while. However, as a rule, the sequels never work.
But I definitely need to look into that!

It's quite interesting and I guess dream catcher was a one off as he later revealed he was under the influence of Oxycodone when writing it. When he wrote Dr Sleep though I assume he was under the influence of "The Steam". In fact the Shining finds it's way into Joyland as well. I'm starting to assume if they all take place in the same universe or it's that these things happen and King is always there to write them down.
