What book(s) are you currently reading?

Forget about mental illness for a while and just let loose in here.

I just finished reading the ebook Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, and now listening to same book on my ipod.

I found it neat that they are actually making another remake of this book to the big screen on March 11th. I surely hope they stick to the book and don't make it with sexual content etc in it. That just ruins it for me.

:)

I'm reading 1984 by George Orwell, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, and I just started Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. Needless to say, I love classics ha

I'm currently on book three of the amazing fantasy series Lyonesse by Jack Vance which is absolutely brilliant. I haven't read a series this engrossing . . . well, ever.

I'm bad at summarizing books, so you can read summaries and reviews of each title on Goodreads, etc.:

Book one - Suldrun's Garden

Book two - The Green Pearl

Book three - Madouc

I can honestly say that what I've read so far is better than Dune which is one of my favorite sci-fi books.

There are currently hardback and softcover omnibuses of this trilogy which I recommend getting ASAP before the book is out-of-print again. The titles in this book are generally out-of-print and you're usually forced to have to buy used out-of-print copies from used book stores if you want this. You could, of course, purchase volumes in the series second-hand, but you likely won't find it in local bookstores; used copies of the books in this series aren't always easy to find and can be pricey.

I'm creating this post so that you folks can acknowledge the existence of this series; it's strongly deserving of attention. It's a shame that it's obscure and often out-of-print.

Consider checking it out. If you're into speculative fiction, this could very well become one of your favorite series of all-time. Heck - even if you're not into speculative fiction you could enjoy this. Lots of people who've read this say that this is on par (or even better) than Lord of the Rings.
