I'm going to *kind of* post a picture of me. I'm not 100% comfortable with people here looking at my pic.. because of a strange paranoia that someone might actually recognize me from somewhere. Maybe in the future, I'll give you a better look. But for now:

I don't have low self-esteem when it comes to my looks as they are not the most important thing to me. The problem when it comes to defining my looks is that I just don't know how I look to others because I neither got positive nor negative confirmation from people, thus I'm dwelling in confused state, but as I said, it does not bother me much because I don't focus on my looks that much (this is not to say that I don't care about it and don't wash my face, body or don't dress in a normal way)

see what i mean though, people see you as looking good or whatever, but when you see yourself it's like... meh... hard to explain. I think I'm average, but i'm self conscious with certain things about myself, my smile, my nose... mainly everything else is fine. I find the older that I get though it is easier to be ok with who I am I dealt with all that fun bullying, and calling me names, making fun of me because I had a twin sister etc.. kids are cruel, and I guess it stayed... though there are days when i'll go oooh T you look good today YAY lol... those are the days I Smile.

I don't focus on my looks all that much I don't wear foundation, If I wear any make up it's mascara and a bit of eye shadow, I don't do my hair often and make it stylish, hell I can do much with it anyways lol.

I don't care about fashion, I wear what i'm comfortable wearing...

no, it's not just a chick thing. Many guys are also like this and are very uncertain about their looks, even if girls confirm to them that they look good. My theory is that a person is used to his or her face and can't reliably judge how others will perceive them. But, the more confirmation one gets about his looks, the more aware one will get about his/her looks. If you get often positive confirmation, this will strengthen your believe that you look good overall, if you get mostly negative confirmation this will lower your believes that you look good and if the confirmation is mixed, your believe will be averaged. When I look in the mirror, I don't see anything that appealing, but I do like my eyes but also dislike my smile. The most things girls stare at is my eyes, they often can't keep theirs away from mine. I've had multiple cases where it became so annoying to me that I had to open my mouth and ask them not to stare. It freaks me out sometimes. I now often look away when I meet girls because of this very thing....

I do get more positive and I never have gotten negative, not since my school days really.. so I guess that's a plus I guess lol.

I figured, even though I get self conscious with my pics, as I know a lot of people are on here, if they say me doing it perhaps they'll open up too ?

I think that's why I just decided to show my face... i've been here too long as it is, so this is me... take it or leave it lol

I tend to look at eyes when I meet someone, guys more then girls.
Good eyes on a guy is a plus.
But I can understand it being annoying if they are constantly staring

well, when i first saw your pic, I secretly rated you 7.5/10. There was not a single thing that would make me rate you any lower. Maybe I'm a bit biased as I very often go for dark haired/dark eyed girls because I dislike blondes. It's not that they're not pretty, but they have a much brighter appearance which I'm not attracted to that much. Dunno "darker" girls have something that blondes miss, in my eyes...

and yes, often people need that tiny push in order to show their faces online, especially if they have low self-esteem.

She's just being a holdout. I saw a pic of her once that puts her over a 10. I even printed it out. It's under my bed now...
