Would you go on a trip alone

Postby seulki3 » Wed Feb 04, 2009 3:03 am

Provided you have the money and time, would you go to some remote places for a get away? Maybe las vegas, hawaii or guam? Even if you are going alone?

Well, I guess, if you are a people-oriented person, it should be ok, but for someone not sociable, but still needing some time away, how advisable is it? Being unsocial doesn't eliminate your need to have a little get away.

I go away every night when I close my eyes... to far distant galaxies and places :)

Ya, I'd go in a heartbeat. Sometimes it's better to go places alone. You won't waste your time hanging out with a friend/relative/whoever. It can put you in the mood to met new people.

I'm a horrible "social" person, and I'm planning a HUGE trip for next year! I'm planning to travel to several different countries in Europe, and while my aunt is helping me plan some of it out, I'm going alone. And I would probably go just about anywhere alone. Maybe even prefer it that way. The only part that scares me is the technical bits of traveling, financial and what not. But if I could, I would go to an Island somewhere in the Caribbean right now, all by myself. And I would bring some books, music, me, myself, and I. It would be great! Wow. I REALLY need a holiday!

I'm not a social person. I work in a job where I deal with plants -- I chose it that way as I find dealing with people makes my anxiety rise.
I would love to go on a vacation alone! No one to answer to, I could do and go where I felt most comfortable-- like a botanical garden, or a museum-- instead of having to go where others wanted to. I wouldn't be stressed by chit-chat and trying to find something to say..... I wouldn't have to say a thing.... I like quiet.

are you thinking or wishing to go on a trip? I think you should do it!

I'd like to go, but I'd probably end up freaking out once I got there.
It would be nice to stay in a 49 square foot room with only a computer and internet with some music though. :)

Heh, good idea. Very escapist-like approach " to get away", " to a far distant place", trying to get away from your own Self.

OK, on topic :

I love traveling etc, although I liked it a little more when I was younger. It's somehow stressful now.

I have no problems going to places alone, and I'd manage it, I even had had such adventures in the past, however, there are things I learned on such trips : They are very inconvenient when it comes to practicalities ! : e.g. you need to go to toilet at a bus station / airport/ etc, and who's gonna watch your baggage ?, next, who can guarantee that people won't view you as a freak and thus will avoid to actually make contact with you, and you'll end up walking, eating and sleeping alone, each day........ little odd...
Also, I noticed that, in such situations or in such a holiday context, the only people who will actually approach you to socialize and to make contact will be - other people who are alone on the holiday - and they are very rare. Or as for me, those were the freaks who wanted to have one-night stands.

People commonly "herd " on the holiday, i.e. they stick up with a herd they had arrived with at a holiday destination.

I wish I could take a trip alone right now! This may be weird, but I actually enjoy being alone at times. I mean, I get sad from it too, but I would love to just take off somewhere, and stay by myself with my books and music. They're better than people anyway. Oh, and of course I'd bring my laptop! Which means I'm not all alone, in a sense. I think it would be awesome to go to an island somewhere, though, assuming you would have a nice supply of food and necessities, and to just stay there alone for a while. You'd be able to do a lot of thinking, and relaxing. Just laying out in the warm sun. yeah, I need a break, big time!

No way; I'm a homebody. It has nothing to do with being around other people or not, I just prefer the comfort of my own home. C=

Despite this, there are many places I want to see. Hm...

Mobile home, anybody? lol

 I actually just moved from a mobile home in August. Now I live in what some consider a mansion though. It's funny, because none of it has a thing to do with me, or who I am. And I'm not really embarassed about the mobile home. I was joking. A lot of people associate them with "rednecks", but I'm not and wasn't, so, oh well. :P
