somuchalot, just write whatever words come out of your mouth. I mean, do whatever you want so long as it feels right. Part of coming here is just about expressing yourself and realeasing locked-up anger/frustration.

Take care,
Kevin

No problem. What are you doing in your life right now? I don't know why but i'm getting the picture of you as a calm person, and laid-back.

other than being a newlywed and raising babies? i also have two stepsons age 19 and 14 who are great, i've been close to them since birth which is a bonus. we also have FIVE pets *grin* we live in the house i grew up in with my mom who isn't an invalid but is older and can't mow the yard these days...

seven & a half days out of ten i love my life and am grateful for the hard times i've endured...

i work a couple of jobs, one is more important to me than the other.
in fact, one is extremely important to me, managing a thrift shop that acts as a fundraiser for the domestic abuse shelter in my county. this job is my outlet. it heals all my ills. when i feel stuck, lost, no good, i go to work because if i can't help myself i can at least help someone else...

i've been playing guitar and writing poetry songs journals essays for about 12 years so thats a huge outlet for my frustrations as well...

i also smoke too many cigarettes, great for my nerves, terrible for my health...

i have two beautiful friends who are never shocked by what i say or feel...

i love to read, especially anything spiritual, karmic, loss of innocence, enlightenment...

if there's one thing i do with almost constant consistancy it's viewing life from the inside out with my inner eye, it's a hobby/habit...

thanks for asking & you?

Wow, you see, if I hadn't asked you, I would never have known wht a wonderful person you seem to be. Congratulations on your marriage, by the way (I'm envious!). I am 25 years old and am still studying at college. So, I am very much still living with my parents but, with luck, I will be moving out in a number of months.

Your job sounds quite interesting. What sort of things do you sell? I don't think we use the word 'thrift' here for shops. Are they, like, a charity type of shop?

sorry, i just saw your reply (a week later)...

thrift: a better word is probably "resale" shop.
used goods.
everything from computer equipment to household goods to clothing to books to ....you name it, we see some of it.
we even receive donations of items that we can't quite figure out what the use is.

in essence, everyday i go through other people's stuff, the stuff they no longer want, and sell it to other people for less than half the original price, and the money we make from it directly benefits victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. we also serve as an outreach outlet for victims of housefire, nursing homes and low-income families. these people can replenish their losses or get much needed items for free.

on marriage: i heard once that marriage is a great institution, if you like institutions.... *grin*

i happen to love my institution :)

Hi,

This is an act of genuine selflessness (i.e. - helping others without looking for anything in return). You are aware, aren't you, that the word 'hero' was really created for people who are doing thigns like you? It's truly admirable, somuchalot, and especially in this economical 'crisis'.

We don't have a specific spot for introductions, feel free to post it where ever you wish.

Hello right back. :)

I'm not working, no babies as of yet, but hope to have one or 2 very soon. I have 2 kitties.. would like more lovable pets but the boyfriend of 8 yrs wont let me.

Well done with the thrift shop helping domestic violence victims, sounds wonderful, I help survivors online, either through this site, my support forum healing wounds or myspace.

I don't smoke, rarely drink, read too much and can't really cook. :D
