Happy New Year

Postby Chucky » Wed Dec 31, 2008 10:06 pm

Hi,

Due to the great success of the 'Happy Christmas' thread, I have decided to create a 'Happy New Year' thread too. Again, just write whatever you want here, and in whatever language you want to too.

Here's 'Happy New Year' in Irish: Athbhliain faoi Mhaise Duit

Don't worry Asuka because I had to look it up! They never actually taught me how to say 'happy new year' in Irish at school. Irish is adying language, but that's for another day's discussion!

Well just to show what an ignorant american I am, I didn't even know that their was an Irish language! I thought they all just spoke English! And my ancesters were Irish!!

Anyway. I hope everyone has one hella good year! And we will all be here again soon, talking about 2010. I wonder if we'll call it twenty ten, or two thousand and ten. Hmmmm....*ponders*

'kay, it's really time for me to go to bed! I'm getting a little loopy!

That's why they have an accent when they speak English.

butterfly, I've had a headache for a few days and a general 'fuzzy' feeling; and my brother and his girlfriend also have colds. It's winter though, so it's all to be expected! I hope you snuggled-up warm and watched a good movie or something.

element, not many know that there is an Irish language, It's similar to the Scottish language. To say 'My name is element', just say this:

element is ainm dom
[element iss an-em dum]

Does anyone have any New Year resolutions?

I'll answer that with another question: Do new year's resolutions ever work? I have never made them because I see no point in them. If I make a resolution, I just make it on the spot, irrespective of the time. I hear people saying that I'm going to do this and that starting from next week or month, but I just know that they won't do it.
