I am an hopeless leftist so I would vote Obama no matter what (if I was an american citizen). but I was curious about what other aspies think about it. I like Obama a lot for caring more about people and for being more open for dialogue. But on the other hand he often supports his opinions on feelings and not with rational more technical justifications as I prefer and I think McCain does it better.

Obama inspires people to be better...McCain just bores me. His political commercials play on people's fears. That and he was talking about how Obama didn't have experience, blah blah blah...and then picks someone who was Governor of Alaska for 1 year to be his VP. Now, instead of talking about his experience, he's trying to sell people on the idea that he is all about change (something Obama has been saying the whole time I might add).

Anyway, that's my opinion. Others may disagree, but that is why I love America...people can disagree. I tell people that if they want to complain about the government, then they need to vote. :D

My simple view is same as map's.

My more complex view is that Obama should never be president as it will lead to more black oppression. Most likely USA is going into a couple of very tough years, and sitting as the first black president, getting hammered with the blame... (On a side note: I didnt notice he was black until the media pointed it out. Yay for media.)

Also I fear that Obama is going to be under too hard pressure with regards to his own safety that it might end up destroying the guy. In 2 ways. People have already claimed they wanted to attempt on his life, and if American economy starts circling the drain even more over the next few years, he's going to be a president during one of the worst depressions since the 1930's.

Also I feel it very bad timing of the Democrats to try to get a grip of the country again after the Republicans have driven foreign relations and economy into the ground. I have to speculate that the Democrats actually did not want the rudder as they fronted both a Female and Black canditate.

And when it comes to the Republicans, I'm not entirely sure what to believe. McCain might be too old to sit the entire period, and with a Vice Pres he's suggested I dunno.

Deep down I sit with a feeling that this is just a very weird Hollywood movie. Kinda same feeling I had when I was at home watching the second Twin Tower get hit by a plane...

I don't believe politics should be America walking around being angry at everyone in the world. So mexicans hate us, canadians hate us, europeans hate us - the people we kill definately hate us. And all in all, everyone hates us...

We'll turn into the Nazi's in no time if we keep the religiously sensed people in power. War's are fought over religion more than disagreements. Cultural difference's cause cultural issues - bridging the gap inbetween is what will make peace. And Mccain is racist and angry half the time, and Palin has a very loose tongue.

Hey,

Does anyone know who moved this thread?; and where was it moved from? In any case, the majority of Europe is behind Obama because any connection to George Bush Jnr. is seen as bad. Plus, I think that having Palin as Vice-President is an atrocious decision and a cheap ploy by the Republican party. The USA, being the most powerful nation in the world, should not resort to such childish tactics (by both parties) during elections. I mean, this $#%^ is serious, and yet both parties deceive people just to get into power.

USA politics stinks, but it stinks everywhere else too (except, perhaps, in places like Dubai, Oman, and Brunei).
