About 7 month ago I found Japanese group Perfume.I found 50-100 clips with this group.
I view how they dance, how they smiling, how they feeling, how they have possitive energy and
messages.
I decide that in japanes music have very good possitive energy.
I found many clips with this possitive japanese music.
Now my hobby is to find possitive japanese music and clips.

Again possitive song with subtitles. :)

Are these bands actually popular in Japan? Like, are they Japanese 'Pop' music?

This project "Morning Musume" is popular in Japan.

They have strange music and strange styles.

I suppose that maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of people who like music listen this sort of music.

They have more that 3 ways to create positive music.

One way is big projects like group Morning
Musume,MiniMoni,AKB48.

Other way is to use Anime group or anime projects and songs.
They like animation and have animation characters and animation songs.
Girls sing anime songs.Link for this sort of music.

Other way is Pop singers who sing positive music.
Pop singers and groups often make advertisement projects where sing , dance and make advertising.

They also have thousands fans who create amateur
songs or dancing in strange uniforms.
Amateurs teach you how to dance.Links with subtitles.

REM - Shiny Happy People [<- I'm surprised that this wasn't mentioned already]

elf, you appear to know an awful lot about Japanese music. Does this knowledge to extend to their culture too?; and do you speak Japanese? they are a very proud nation, from what i gather, similar to the way that the French are. The like to do things their own way.

Japan is very populated country.
Asian people (in Japan,China,Korea) are shy and very depresive people.
Asian people like very much colours.
In USA have punk mania, but asian people really like colours.

"USA Today reported that "a suicide fad is sweeping Japan." Last year nearly 34,000 Japanese men and women committed suicide"

http://www.swivel.com/graphs/show/28847825

More than 70% of people in Japan have university education.

They have very big information and various art.

I don,t know but in many forums people say that japanese are very depressive people.

In Asian films often good ,honest, and heroic person die.
They have very deep and tragic emotions.

They don,t want to conquer the world or to be multi-millionaires.

Often old people play or entertain himself with kids games.
They are collectors or have very strange hobbies.
Also they like animation.
Also they often are smiling and happy like kids.

Asian people very often are feeling like kids.

In other post I will give you more links and songs or clips.
