Saute and deglaze with red wine or red wine vinegar, either would suffice.

i love ot cook but not up to date on the termiology. whats deglazing and how do you do it? how much wine or vinegar do you use? i like ot cook with wine and beer but hate drinking the stuff..lol but they make the food taste so much better and savory

Deglazing is getting off all that good tiny pits off the pan and turning it into a glaze or a gravy sorta thing, but a glaze is better you just reduce the wine after deglazing, maybe add a little sugar. Get a nice thin sauce to spread over your meats.

most chefs would use tomato paste before the wine just to brown it at a low temperature and get allthe bits then evaporate it all off at a high temperature with wine.

That gets a little complicated so I say just go with the wine use a wooden spoon to get those little bits then reduce it down..

:)

crockpot chicken and tomato soup

1 big can tomatoes
chicken breasts for however many

into the crockpot add soem spices celery large cuts and the leaves save for the end

Would this work? I've never used a crockpot before. But I bet it would make a mean tomato soup from a big can of tomatoes or 4 small cans.

S&P plus the leaves you saved, maybe some parsley rosemary sprigs and there you go.
