Songs that cheer you up

Postby Raiyne » Fri Apr 25, 2008 12:35 am

I happen to love music of all kinds and often use it to cheer myself up. I especially like to listen to old songs that are now considered... well, pretty bad. I don't know why, it just makes me grin when I hear horrible 70's music. This week, I've been listening to "Never Been Any Reason" by Head East. It's great to be able to annoy my friends with the chorus line...

"Save my life I'm goin' down for the last time!"

My point in posting this was to find out what songs cheer you up and why?

Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered -
Till I scarcely more than muttered `Other friends have flown before -
On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.'
Then the bird said, `Nevermore.'

Here are some of them for me:

Through the Fire and the Flames --- DragonForce (rock)
You Really Got Me --- Van Halen (rock)
Oh! The Breeches Full of Stitches --- The Chieftains (Irish music)
Toccata and Fugue in D Minor --- Bach (classical)
The Quest of Your Life --- Evil Dog (punk)

I like the music genres listed the most, and I don't like country music, or soprano opera for that matter.
The only reason the government pays for my college education is so I will pay them more money in taxes throughout my lifetime. Now, if they are expecting me to like them for it, tough $#%^.

What cheers me up is not songs, but instrumental pieces. Herbie Hancock's funk records from the seventies are the best for this.

Sunshine To The Rain by Miri Ben-Ari.

I also like to take my favorite songs and make munchkin-voiced versions of them using a voice changer, or making male singers sound like women, or women to men. :-p The songs still sound pretty good, the only bad part being the instruments and stuff sound horrific.

I especially love Dance, Dance munchkinized. xD

Morph-Vox Junior, guys. It's fun and free.

In keeping with the two songs mentioned in the previous two posts (about rain and sunshine), how about this one:

'Sunshine On A Rainy Day', by Zoe.
