Avatar problems... Topic might be spam

Postby Sun_Girl » Sun Apr 20, 2008 6:48 pm

Mmyeah, I'm having avatar problems. I keep trying to set these Meez images up.... It keep saying the URL isn't valid or something like that. It's weird, since these images are "fresh out of the oven" or however you'd like to put it.

I tried it with a yahoo avatar, which wasn't oversized or anything. Same "image is not valid" stuff.

Advice is welcomed. xD Even though this isn't that big a deal, so sorry everyone.

I apologize if this thread is spam.

It's not spam at all my dear. What is the URL of the avatar?

Wow, that was fast. :)

Hmm, the URL is:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v309/ ... 658785.jpg

What I wanted to do was keep one image in my signature, and another as an avatar. With or without an avatar, it's no big deal. :)

Thank you!

Hi,

I know what the problem is and I have resolvd it for you. The problem is that the URL for the avatar cannot have a '?' in it, like the link you are trying to has. I won't go into explaining what the '?' means but, basically, you'll need to copy the picture yourself to a URL that has no wild characters in it (Wild characters are : ! ? @ etc.)

However, I have copied the image to my own web-space and you can link to that if you want. The URL is:

http://www.geocities.com/kevinblighe/Su ... n_Girl.jpg

Let me know if it works! :)

Take care,
Kevin.

Oh, thank you!

I've put it in my avatar space, and as you can see, it works. :)

It's weird. I tried all the other codes (HTML, direct link, and IMG) and nothing worked.

I think I can put up an image from meez without needing a URL from photobucket. I wasn't doing it before because it kept giving out the same code for every picture.

Thanks again~

Excellent! - It's working. You can source the picture from my website for as long as you want. I've had that same webspace for a long long time and it's in no danger of being removed or anything!

It's a nice avatar by the way - very cute.
