It's actually the Dorian mode (my bad, not yours), and it is sort of hard to explain/understand. Let's say the song was in A dorian (I played a song in this key), It is played like G major (with an F#), but "do" or the starting note of the scale/mode would be A. It's weird, but very interesting. I have a book on it...it's actually my dad's but he didn't take it with him when he left so now it's mine.

It's really interesting though! (yes, I am a music geek!)
It is a cool song!
I love John Lennon. He is by far my fave for many reasons, but I do love MrCartney and Harrison. I'm not a big fan of Ringo. His solo stuff just doesn't impress me. I'm not a big fan of his vocals really. He should have just stuck to the drums, because he was very good at that. JK I'm not saying he's a bad singer, but it's just not for me.
I love Harrison's My Sweet Lord too, and there a lot of others that I can't remember the names of, but I like them too. I have the last album he put out, and some of it is very good, but I don't think it was his best work. I think he was an amazing guitar player!! I think he wrote and sang While My Guitar Gently Weeps, which is one of my favorite Beatles songs.
I like a lot of McCartney's stuff, but I just don't relate to it in the way that I relate to Lennon's music. He had so many songs that I love and can relate to sooo much!!
I guess all four of them were highly talented, but Lennon is my favorite, partially because of his music and partially because of who he was.
Wow, I've just rambled on and on, but it's hard not to when I'm talking about the beatles. I LOVE the beatles!!
Wow. and now I just realized that I told you the wrong mode. Norwegian wood is written in Mixolydian mode, because "do" is E, but it is played like it's in G major. If you're into music theory, you should look this stuff up because it's really interesting! I have a book on Mixolydian too, and that's probably why I confused the two.
~element (sorry for rambling so much and probably boring you!
