Winter is longest, then summer, and the rest (spring, fall) is quite short. I'm always surprised to hear it's the first day of winter, or of spring, etc., because it never seems to correspond to the actual weather.

Yes, they need to redefine the seasons in certain countries because the seasons are continually coming later and later. Our Spring this year was only about a month long (it should be 3). Winter, however, was about 6 months long and it was harsh.

It's decent here in Florida, although seeing as it is summer, there is too much humidity (Read my location!)
The only reason the government pays for my college education is so I will pay them more money in taxes throughout my lifetime. Now, if they are expecting me to like them for it, tough $#%^.

It's been really dry lately. It didn't rain for weeks. Fine by me - I didn't have to mow the lawn. It finally rained really hard the other day so I finally mowed the lawn. Fall is here now - it's getting very cold at night.

Suddenly it's turtleneck weather! I rode my bicycle. I was headed out the door and decided it was that cold out. Don't know if it even hit 60 today.

heeh, I have been thinking about wearing aturtle-neck these days too. It's getting colder, no doubt about it. At the moment, a car is being towed away on the street behind me. It's just before 1AM, which is a bit odd. Do towing companies work at this hour? - Bizarre. Hmm, as I put my head out the window, I can smell the adorable scent of cocoa beans being used to make chocolate. Nestlé's factory is a few hundred metres from me, and they seem to do all of the fermentation work on Saturday night / Sunday morning each week. The city where I live is where Nestlé were first situated, in fact.

...Anyway, it's calm out now, but the sky is cloudy.

You live near a chocolate factory, eh. Booger that would make my chocolate cravings 10 times worse. We have 24 hour towing services around here. I always worry that my car will break donw in the boonies beween Montreal and Ottawa sometime. They better have 24 hour towing in Canada because I can be out there after midnight. It is a lonely drive, but you ALWAYS see tons of traffic around Montreal.

It's supposed to warm up a bit in the next few days. We usually get an indian sumer in october or november. Do you get that?

mm that chocolate factory scent sounds nice.

It's spring here, but I'm in Tasmania, so it's a cool to cold spring. Today has been strange, you get 15 minutes of sunshine, then for the next 45 minutes it gets all gloomy and dark as clouds roll in and you get a bit of hard, sharp rain, and that cycle just repeats all day. I think it's snowing in some parts of the state, but I'm on the coast. Temperature probably about topped at about 14 in celcius.

Is the weather usually like that in Tasmania? I lived in a city called Galway in Ireland last Summer and every day it was raining one minute, and then Sunny the next. I'd never seen anything quite like here. Here in the UK, things are a little more 'calm' because my city is sheltered by the Pennine mountain range.

no, it's not a highly changeable climate usually, but i think spring weather is a bit like that, or it can sometimes be snow related, I haven't lived in snowing states before, but the weather is often a bit odd if there's snow falling somewhere in the state.

I have lived in a town in another state where the weather is very "4 seasons in one day", they had a saying there: "Don't like the weather? Just wait 15 minutes and it will change"
