I find this to be an extremely interesting and useful site.

For those who are truly interesting in seeing just where they stand, I strongly suggest you TAKE THE TEST BEFORE READING ANY OTHER INFO ON THE SITE!

It's be great to hear some opinions!

I took it the first time and got something like -6.50 on the left/right scale and then took it again and got -6.88. The Libertarian/Authoritarian scale stayed the same.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -6.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.92

Link to a picture of the scale results

However, these results are based on one side of the dichotomy in my mind (the side of the dichotomy that was/can be measured by this test consists of how things would work "ideally" and the decisions I would make based on that.)

I did the test some time ago and don't remember my exact score, but I definitely find myself in the same quadrant, similar to both of you, libertarian left.

I didn't necessarily mean for people to reveal their political orientations, if they don't want to. But I do find the site interesting, especially where it collocates our present-day politicians.

It's true, it's a test that reveals one's ideals, but hey, maybe if we were all a bit more consistent with our ideals....

Wow, and I thought I was going to be the only one with such a high score in those directions.

You're right though, it is a pretty interesting/cool site.

I don't really want anyone or any test telling me where I stand. I guess that's a leftist statement, isn't it?

Economic Left/Right: 6.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.69

Although I never put much stock on these things, the questions are too simplified and often flawed. Some of the questions are too complicated to boil down to "agree/disagree"

But I digress, it can be fun to take these things

I do agree. But if you read the FAQ, you also get a little different perspective.

I've moved to the right and social libertarianism since I last took this test. The first time I took it, about 5 years ago, I got almost a perfect 0/0 centrist score. It seems I am drifting down and to the right with age.

What I find interesting is that the Libertarian left, Authoritarian left, and authoritarian right are chockers full of politicians, but there is literally no significant political figure of past or present times in the libertarian right quadrant.

Really, it's odd.
