i can sort of relate, my mom has always smoked, and she grew up in a generation where everybody smoked. She never smoked in th house, and took two showers a day so people didnt know she was a smoker, and you couldnt tell. But i saw her try to quite neumerous times and fail. Also, the ciggerette prices are crazy, i saw that. I never had an urge to try smoking, but ive never been one who is influenced by peer pressure though. My freinds never found smoking nicoteen cool, so i guess i didnt have any pressure. But i believe with my mom being a smoker, it actually was a deturent...i am nothing like my mom though

Sometimes, you are too concerned with other things going in your life to be bothered whether you should be smoking or not.

It is well known it is bad for your health but so are other things, we get socially penalised for smoking, but I (as a former smoker) am saddened that Pubs arent pubs anymore.

They are playgrounds for kids and families, in the oldern days you were allowed to swear in a pub, nowadays you get an instant ban, arent pubs supposed to be a place for you to unwind in, and just be yourself.

I have indifference to smoking, I used to smoke 40 a day (Marlborough Red), on my day of stopping (I prefer to say stopping rather than giving up, it is a psychological thing), I smoked one cigarette, then that was it. I did it cold turkey. I think when you have in your mind to do it, it is possible. I did this at a time when I was under severe bullying, at FKI in Cranfield, Beds.

I happily mix with smokers, moreso, when they (because of the ban, have to go outside) I go out with them, because I want to continue the conversation.

Pubs have lost their soul in the new pubs of England. Dont know about elsewhere.

As far as I know, Taverns in the USA don't allow anyone under 21.

I guess I'm one of the few smokers here who actually enjoys it. I started smoking pot first and discovered that I just liked smoking, even when it was just tobacco. As soon as I lit my first, it just felt natural.

The only things I don't like about it are the cost and the anti-smoking bandwagon the earth has jumped on. I smoke alone in my house, who else am I hurting? Leave me alone.

I don't want this to turn into a debate but, for one, I do agree that smoking is really bad. My great grandmother died from lung cancer and my fiances father has cancer in his throat. But, get this.. They never smoked a day in there lives. Not a single time.

Things just happen.

I started smoking at age 20 and thought it was really comforting and I enjoyed it. I wish I didn't. I have been smoking on and off. I have three little ones but I never smoke inside. I don't even smoke when I'm out. I only smoke, maybe, 5 a day. I never smoked during my pregnancies. All of my kids are underweight from genes. Nothing to do with what I did. A friend of mine is pregnant and is smoking. It makes me so angry. She smoked with her first child and he came out perfectly.

All I'm saying is, I agree with both parts. Honestly, I am getting really tired of people ranting and raving about how bad it is. Its a broken record. I know that you think its really stupid and that its bad for your health. But, were all human and make mistakes. We all have our opinions. I actually like the TRUTH tactics. I think there getting across a lot better then flat out telling people that there ignorant for smoking. Take my word for it. They know whats going on.

I am personally taking the advantage of using chantex to quit. When I go in for my therapy session I will see if she can get me a RX.

I like smoking. Been smoking since I was 15 or so.

I quit cold turkey for a month in February/March but started smoking again when we started to get flooding coming towards our house. I've been smoking since and have no plans to quit again.

I roll my own unfiltered cigarettes with a rolling machine and Bugler tobacco. Costs about thirteen bucks a week to smoke around 20 cigarettes a day and they last twice as long too. If I had to buy 'em by the pack I'd be hosed. Costs too much.

I've seen some people who smoke and roll. They sure don't look happy while rolling it up but once they smoke it, they're whole demeanor changes.

My wife smokes too. She's got an electric roller that puts tobacco in a tube with a filter on it. Works pretty good. She can roll a carton in about half an hour. It takes me about 15 minutes to roll a pouch by hand. That'll last all day. Not a bad hourly rate versus buying them.

I roll my own too, although I do it by hand as and when I want them. I probably smoke about 15 a day and it costs me about £10 a week.
