Why? How?

They did screw up on the 'nanner sandwich- it was missing peanut butter.

Wasn't that the point? Mayonnaise instead of peanut butter?

I'd eat everything except the pickled eggs. If drunk.

Not necessarily, we also eat pineapple sandwiches with mayonnaise.

But in the case of a banana sandwich, it's better with mayonnaise and peanut butter.

Or ditch the bananas and just have peanut butter and mayonnaise. PB&M was popular from the 1930s into the 1960s, particularly in The South.
