What makes you happy?

Forget about mental illness for a while and just let loose in here.

Yes.
I had to work on myself greatly to get here.
For me, it goes a long ways towards rectifying some very bad stuff in the way I started out.
Turning bad into good is satisfying to me and yeah, now that I think of it, it too makes me happy.

May I ask did you only work on yourself in your mind or did you get some kind of help?

Maybe this came out of nowhere. I will explain why did I ask this. I thought you two were talking about aspd but it is possible I did not understand correctly because English is not my native language.

I have a friend with aspd. She was in some kind of institution when she was a teenager. She had some kind of "behavioral treatment" there. When she did something wrong she got a punishment and when she behaved correct she got a reward. A doctor told her mother she does not need any conventional discussion theraphy because it could make her even worse. I know this is true because I have heard it from her mother. Anyway, she managed to do quite well in the institution but she returned back to her bad behaviour afterwards and many things happened. That all was a long ago.

She has not got any kind of treatment as an adult but still she now is much better. Her behaviour is almost normal and I sometimes do wonder why, maybe she has matured or maybe she has worked in her mind and figured out something or maybe it is because she now has an education or maybe it is something else. I do not know.

I don't have AsPD, Dahliaa. But I know a number of people who have that diagnosis.

Perhaps your friend, as a child, had ODD, or CD as a diagnosis. Those do not always progress into AsPD.

Any of the things you mentioned could have occurred.

Have you asked her what has changed for her? Have you asked her if her thinking has changed, or is it just her behavior?

Edit: OT... so, one of the things that makes me happy is when someone has a rough childhood, but finds a way to overcome that as an adult. And doesn't pass the pain along to the next generation.

It was a long, cold day, or I was tired and therefor feeling a little cold. I'm under a blanket now and I've got my <3 kitty here with me. He to got his paws cold but now he is curled up in my lap, twitching in sleep and he was purring for a long time. Mommy and a blanket, warmth and food.
Seeing others, also pets happy, makes me happy.

Thank you for your reply, you are very helpful.

She got her cd diagnosis when she was a teenager and they changed it to aspd later. Not just like that, many things happened.

It is pointless to ask her some things. She is dishonest. Because of that I asked here. She is slippery like a soap, I mean it is an impossible task. I have tried many times, I know. You probably understand what I mean because you know people with aspd.

Ok, I understand it is mainly (only?) her behaviour which has changed. And this does mean what? It could change again? Many things are possible? Everything is possible? Maybe she made some kind of decision?

Now I need take a break because I suddenly realised many things at the same time and I feel overwhelmed.

I'm not sure I'd remain friends with someone who is habitually dishonest and a liar. Why?

That ^ would definitely not make me happy.

^for me it depends on the lie and the motivations behind it. I don't discard all lies as being useless.

Lying is like a social lubricant.

It's a losing battle to try make the world adjust around me, so I adjust to it. Lying is adjustment.
I wear clothes, wear a face and exchange unnecessary pleasantries when required. To be fully naked in truth is ideal but reserved for those most intimate.

My father came to visit today. It makes me happy that even though it was late, I realized that I care about him. It was a pleasant surprise.

Today he was trying to find a book and I tried to help. It made me happy when he finally found it even though I wasn't very helpful. I think we're just glad we both made it far enough to begin the process of liking each other.
