What makes you happy?

Hearing that I look 10 years older than I actually am. Up there with people asking me if I am a girl or boy. Charmed.

Every time we get a new person on third shift at my work, we give them a free doughnut of their choice. I tell them I can make whatever they want. Literally anything. The first guy who I did it with requested a ten pound apple fritter (and I did it, 10.91 pounds). Whenever they say "golly gosh, I don't know..." I suggest that, and they always go for it. The look on their face when I walk it over to them is always rewarding.

I wish we'd have free doughnuts at work too.

Lately, I've been travelling a lot both within and outside the country due to work deliverables (bioresearch and psych services). I'm also nearing the end of my masters degree so every spare time that I have is spent at university. Hence, I haven't been able to properly bond with my pets. x(

I often wonder whether they'd forget about me (especially my cat), but whenever I arrive at our house's gate and they'll run up to meet me. It just makes me tear up and feel so warm inside.
Their company is the closest to happiness that I've ever felt these past few years.

My kids, so supportive and smart.
My friends who support me during my change and selfishness.
Radio Paradise, wonderful eclectic music.
Drinking a nice glass of wine.
Snuggeling in my soft bed.
Reading a good book.
Hanging out at my computer, what's up?
Watching netflix.
Taking a nice, warm bath.
Looking at the beautiful fall colors.
Laughing at the comedy on the radio's comedy channel.
Organizing, nesting, making my new home my home. MY home.
Giving to others.

That's an awesome list! But you left off the 2 most important things, cats and music!

kindness from strangers
warm sun + cool breeze
a hard days work and a good nights sleep
the face of someone who learned something new and wants to show me
the sound of hitting a target
burrowing into fresh bed sheets
smell of the top of a womans head who I admire
when someone isn't scared of me and tickles me a bit
learning something fresh that ties other ideas together

^ I really like that list and can relate to many of your items.
I've already posted in this thread early on, but I don't want to look back to see what I said.
So I'll make a fresh list, and won't be surprised if I duplicate what I've already said.

when I'd reading and I'm struck by a wonderful phrase, or a new idea that sparks off other ideas in me
when I hear my kids laughing together, or when they tell me they love me
my dogs
planting something in my garden and watching it flourish under my care
harvesting vegetables and flowers from my garden
little birds - I like watching little birds in the wild, sparrows, hummingbirds, all kinds of birds
some smells of nature - the smell of grass as I'm mowing it, the smell of light rain on dirt or concrete
the sun pouring in some windows of my home
lighting candles at dusk, just because of the ambiance and the flickering light
good music played in old places (like concert halls or cathedrals) with good acoustics
the first bite of something I've been relishing
I have to echo the person above me: the kindness of strangers... to me, or observed towards others
the feeling that I have purpose in and meaning for my life
the belief that, when it is all over, all said and done, it will be alright. "It is well and everything shall be well"

^ I'll be rereading your post sometimes when I feel my less productive impulses coming back. One day having children and raising them in an environment where they will laugh is something that makes it easier to keep working on myself.

My cats and the fact that all people in my life are very kind.
