I was considering putting my Vans in the washing machine. I don't know how long I've had them for and they've seen me through wind, rain, sleet and snow and survived hundreds and hundreds of miles worth of cycling, not to mention their superiority as a comfortable walking shoe. They've been good to me and I think they deserve a bit of a wash.

My fear is that the motion of the machine might prove to be their finality.
