Some suspicious "Sardine Lychee tea" off ebay. Have my hopes high for this one. It looks like a hard find and the picture of it looks beautiful. Bonus points if there is actually sardine or sardine fish oil in it.

That's the rough translation of the product from Chinese kanji to English. I have only bought one bad set of teas from ebay. The rest have been great though. Here is the link to the tea. It's actually quite beautiful looking and uses what appears to be a large sort of ingredients currently unknown to me.

These days I'm afraid I'm rather leery of products from China, although I appreciate gastronomic adventurism, short of going full-on Andrew Zimmern and eating maggot cheese, eyeballs, and stinky tofu....

Yes, I believe many people are these days. This interest of mine was before Corona though. I really enjoy other foods/teas from other cultures. I have purchased Chinese tea cakes as well which are compressed teas picked from secluded parts of mountains and then gently roasted through metal heated tongs. A lot of this stuff has an interesting history and taste to it.

I had Russian chocolates for my birthday, it was interesting how the texture of that chocolate was very powdery and confectionery while American and European based chocolates are more oily and smooth to the touch/texture.
