Climax: The best film of 2018...it took Gasper Noe almost 20yrs to make another decent film, never mind great, but he has done it. Not a film to be thinking during, but one to experience, it can be very hypnotic. 8/10.

I find this hard to believe but I respect your opinion. Which one would you consider to be his other "decent" film? Think carefully, now.

Noe has made 2 great works (I just realized one of which came out later than I thought) I Stand Alone and Irreversible. I had viewed Enter the Void and Love prior to taking the plunge with Climax (which I was not enthused about from the moment I found out about it), and both films aren't good. So much about Climax should have made me dislike it; the less than "French" cast, the music, urban dance, etc, and yet from the start I was enthralled, I was taken out of it slightly during an obvious reference to Isabelle Adjani's masterful performance in the subway scene in Possession, but then I was back under spell. It's a rare contemporary film that I wished I saw in theaters.

His early short 'Carne', which is essentially the opening backstory of I Stand Alone, is pretty decent too, but makes you just want to re-watch its follow up.

Avengers: Endgame

Just watched this movie. I'm not an Avengers fan but I still enjoyed this movie.

It taught me a special lesson about people: Those unfortunate souls who cling to the past can never have a bright future. Focusing on the negative makes you unappreciate the good in life.
