Do the Americans still even call 'chips' French Fries? I mean, there was that big [unnecessary] fuss over the French not going into the Iraq war with the Americans.

I think Americans just call them fries. How silly. Like what do you call french bread, french toast, french roast coffee? Real French people would likely think the soggy little sorry excuses for fries in America would be an insult to thier culture, anyway. I like the fish & chips style where the potato is cut length wise into four quarters. The fast food type is like eating fried paper. Ugh.
There are so many good things to eat in America, why would anyone want to eat fast food junk?
Also, I would not think it would be wise to act like a jerk to people who handle your food.
