Socionics/personality typology

Postby Woolgatherer » Wed Aug 09, 2006 10:40 pm

Is anyone here into socionics and personality typology (such as the Myers-Briggs, Enneagram Type, SLOAN, etc.) ?

I took the test once, but that's about it.

I am most familar with the Enneagram and am definitely a 5 with strong 4. What's your type? Do you find the Enneagram typology helpful/useful/relevant?

With Meyers-Briggs, I came out as INTJ/INFJ, not sure, if this is accurate as the test was kind of skimpy.

Initially, I also scored as a 5 on the Enneagram. However, after becoming more familar with the nine types and taking a more accurate test I realized I'm more of a 4, with a 5 wing.

This describes me to a tee.

On what website did you take the test?

A couple of my friends are fours and I share a lot of the four traits (therefore the four wing), but my basic fear is to be incompetent and the integration of five fits me very well also. I tend to become 8tish when feeling good and confident.

So this would fit me very well: http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/TypeFive.asp

I always wanted to know, what the... is an Iconoclast? Not that the descriptors they attach to the types mean much, but still....

Re: Meyers-Briggs, I used a link suggested on this forum, but I cannot remember which. If you have one that is very good, I can test again and see what comes out.

Regarding typology etc, most of them overlap (of course) because they all describe character traits/behaviours etc. that tend to occurr/are grouped together. Some of these typos are too vague for my taste (being a 5, I like details or I am a five because I like detail :)).
