Anime Anyone?

Forget about mental illness for a while and just let loose in here.

I grewq up on Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2.

I've liked about everything I've seen, but some favourites off the top of my head would be Ayashi No Ceres, Witch Hunter Robin, Cowboy Bebop, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Serial Experiements Lain, and Gravitation.

I prefer subs to dubs, but the old english version of Sailor Moon was good. Since I was five, I've watched it once really, I watched the much later episodes, some 170's and the final one, in Japanese.

I suffer from random addictions to anime.

wow, you guys have watched a lot of anime!

i've only seen serial experiments lain...
unless you want to count sailor moon, digimon, and dragonball z!

i've read some of the "death note" manga... but i think i've given up on it. i read it off of the computer, and it's very tiring to do that. content-wise, the manga is very engaging!

Anime... my favorite!! Wow.. they are too many of them, however, the version that I watch usually is Chinese version, so when come to the name in English, I'm a little bit confuse. However, I know Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2, both product of same writter. And there is another series that by this writter, which direct translate from Chinese will be "THe Legend of Mermain". Wow, I really love it!!

Does Doreamon consider as anime? Really thanks to Doreamon as I cannot imagine my childhood (even now) without Doreamon!!

City Hunter, another anime that I love, together with GTO and Crayon Sin Chan (kid that like pretty women) and many more~~~!!! Anime, best choice to release tension!! ^_^ ..

Live with anime is really the best!! ^_^
Life is just all about know and dont know!!!!

stuff i grew up with:
voltron (cars and lions. i liked the cars)
robotech 1st and 3rd generation
transformers
gi joe
heman
shera
thundercats
silverhawks
tom and herry
bugs bunny
pink panther
inspector gadget
rocky and bullwinkle

no, not all are anime, but their all cartoonish/animation. times have changed, but i still miss watching.

so to all you anime enthusiasts, i got a quest for you to fulfill. i've tried posting on anime boards, nope. no find. i am looking for thee worlds most lamest, cheeseiest anime (well, to me it is) i know i swore never to see it again, and here i am looking for it!

i can give a general description, but keep in mind, this isn't the plot - i only remember certain concepts.

main character. argh, his name i have on the very tip of my tongue but i can't get it to come out. it either begins with an 'n' or a 'k', is three letters and by t hose who arn't fluent in japanese, the always mis-pronounce it.

bad guys. (here's where my descriptions get personal and funny ino) me and my friends called them alien bodies run by demons who ate sea urchins of large size as energy source. and the aliens, we sed looked like floating squid. and of course, the sea urchin looking creatures were called by another name. and those alien floating squids, were the head, hidden, power authorites in a large business corportation. so they never made public appearance and had a pawn that appeared human to others as the go-btween man. so their pawn is always going after the main character.

ok, back to the main character. i wana say (in gaming terms) he was a chaotic good or chaotic neutral character. i THINK that character had died, he wasn't perfect and hada dark past, and the aliens played a connection on why he was brought back to life? i don't think he was undead, rather, i guess being back in his body as purgatory?

i already tried googl'n it and other movies popped up with the main characters name, but, thats not the movie. can't think of those movie names off the top of my head, but if you post them, i can say yes or no easily.

so, are you up for this challenge? willing to take on the quest? good! lets see how true of a nime fanatic you are....

I haven't ever met another person who's watched Serial Experiments Lain, even though I've been in countless anime forums/threads. I watched it over again just this past Saturday.

anybody find my demonized floating squid eating sea urchins who want to dominate the world yet?

I'm not an anime fanatic, although when I was 9/10 I liked Pokemon, Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo etc. All dubbed of course.

Since then I haven't watched any anime besides some things I've downloaded - some Mazinger-Z film and the first Lupin III series which I'm in the process of watching in it's entirety.

Speaking of Robotech, I'm currently downloading Super Dimension Fortress Macross out of curiosity. Never saw Robotech though.

Oh, and as a kid (between age 4 - 5) I also remember watching (vaguely) Kimba the White Lion. Adventures of Pinocchio was a big favourite when I was 7 or so (also known in Japan as Mokku the Oak Tree). I can't find episodes of the latter for download anywhere, unfortunately.

EDIT: This isn't anime related, but I'm interested in the idea of tokusatsu (live action super hero) shows and movies. I have a couple of Godzilla related movies that I haven't yet seen as well.

I'm not an enormous anime 'otaku' or anything, but I do read some manga. I like Fruits Basket, +Anima and Detective Conan (Known as Case Closed here in the 'states.) I also watch the Detective Conan anime, and I have two of the DVDs. It's an addiction! lol
