Thanks NSR! FB has been pretty much OK today. I managed to stay off it for several hours lol! You're quite right - the members of the group have every right to their feelings. They are giving me a bit of a wide berth just now. I never meant to hurt their feelings but I guess I have. I'm not very good at this, especially for someone of my reasonably advanced age. I think tbh I'm suffering from general burn-out from everything I'm going through. All will be well in the end...

Several hours off line is great ...I think the longer you go without it , the less you'll feel like being on .

I think you're over-thinking this . It's a small sadness because you have decided to back off on participating . I don't see " hurt feelings " . I see " We like you a lot and we're sad that we won't be seeing you here so much ." The decision made them sad , not something you did to them .

And I don't think they're avoiding you either . They seem like they're showing respect for your choice but wish it hadn't been necessary for you to make it . That's a completely natural reaction : sadness , acceptance of the situation , continue on with life .

All will be well ! Take care of yourself .

Thanks NSR - you're very kind - I very much appreciate your replying to me! I had typed out a long response which then promptly disappeared - aargh! Ah well, let's try again lol!

You're quite right - I am probably overthinking things. I generally do! Although I've always had the tendency to do that, my health problems have made it a lot worse because I'm on my own so much, stuck in the bathroom! Not easy to keep things in their proper proportion in those circumstances!

The ladies in the group are nice people, certainly!

According to my surgeon's secretary, I am on the waiting list and they want to get me "done" asap. This would be great, but my idea of asap probably isn't quite the same as the NHS's lol!

I don't know if you've noticed, but I've put the famous quote by Juliana of Norwich - "all shall be well" - as my signature. I find it a very comforting phrase!
