My experience in an online relationship.

I'd been experimenting lately with various apps for an online relationship as an internet addict, and thought the following information might be useful for others in the same predicament.

I rely on the Screen Time app to help me control my internet addiction. Being in a long-distance relationship though, and my partner using the Wechat app, I'd programmed Screen Time to not block that app.

Unfortunately though, I'd later discovered that I could easily save Google.com in my favorites section in Wechat and from there access the web from Wechat itself.

I'd tried to block Wechat on certain times of the day but this irritated my partner when she wanted to contact me at those times.

I later tried Google Hangouts. It is a very good app in terms of not allowing web surfing access through itself, but my partner disliked the lack of a voice recording option on that app.

I later installed Facebook Messenger. It does allow web-surfing access in principle, but as far as I can tell, only on the main conversation page. Certainly my partner would find it strange for me to send her Google.com as a message, so that discourages me from doing so.

So far the the Screen Time app to limit my internet access, Google Hangouts (which redirects any internet links she sends me to Google Chrome which I programmed Screen Time to limit to 20 minutes a day) and Facebook Messenger (for voice recordings) seems to be the right combination. Of course I've since programmed Screen Time to restrict my access to Wechat too.

One flaw with Screen Time is that it can be disengaged for seconds at a time by restarting the phone; so if your password for Screen Time is in your phone but blocked by Screen Time itself, you'll be able to access it that way.

I'd solved that problem by uninstalled Screen Time and reinstalling it but this time giving my partner's email address with her permission.

Now if I need legitimate access for more than the twenty minutes a day I'd programmed it to allow me, I must ask her to send me the password email. Of course I discard it from my phone once I've made legitimate use of it.

What are your experiences as sex addicts in long-distance relationships?
