May I ask the name of the medication you take? I am strongly aginst psychiatric medication. Many doctors use the same medications to treat axiety as insomnia. These are called Anti-axiety medications, or benzodiazepines. Some of these are named ativan, xanax, klonopin, halcion and valium. These are HIGHLY addictive. All sleep medications are addictive and should v taken with caution. If you want to go off of it you will need to talk to your doctor, and withdrawl slowly with a lot of support. There are alternatives to medications.
Lifestyle changes can often help a lot. Such changes may include
- Keeping a rotine
-Not using Tabaco, Caffinee, or alcholhol
- Not going to bed untill you are tierd and getting up if you lie in bed for more then 45min.
-Taking a warm bath 90min. before bed
- Drinking warm milk or eating turkey
You may also want to get into some thearpy for your axiety or go to a support group. You can often get such services from a hospital or counsoling center. If you tell me your zipcode I will probley be able to find you a place.
If you could possibly give me the name of the medication I can get you more specific information but here are some sites that may intrest you
