I think it will be always better if you go for some natural medicines and exercises that will help you get recover fast as exercise that includes meditation is always preferred by most of the doctors as it relaxes your mind, refreshes it and helps in removing all the negative thoughts that may encounter your brain and makes you fell stress for a longer period of time.

There may be different causes of insomnia, as the main cause is stress and that leads to depression. Instead of taking lot of medicines that may put negative effect on your body it is always better to go for natural medication and healthy diet, all the things relates with your mind, it is upto you how you take the situations and deals with them.

Sedatives are not at all the solution, taking healthy diet and leaving things that are bothering you can be a good solution.

Thanks

Warm milk was the first thing recommended to me. Seems simple but it seems to help some people.
Any improvement this week?

I have been getting some sleep. Some nights are better, but I find myself waking up in the middle of the night after about 4-5 hours, then I will doze off, wake up again, doze off, wake up again.........

I am still on Seroquel that I am hoping I can get off of, but at this point I can't see that working for me yet.

Re: Chronic Insomnia

Hi, I am worrying like crazy of WHY I can't sleep on my own. I have never had insomnia like this. I have had insomnia where I wake up at 2 am and can't fall back asleep, but I never had to take medication for it. ever.

Now, since Dec 9th, I have had almost a complete, total insomnia. I don't ever fall asleep on my own without medication.

I had a Sleep Study done and I had to take the Temazapam to sleep (30 mg) and I only went into Stage 1 and 2 Sleep.

No cause was found.

I am scared I have Fatal Insomnia. The Dr told me its rare and genetic and I don't have that, but since its so rare, I wonder if that is what I have as I am having other symptoms. 4 months of near total insomnia is not normal.

When I take the medication to sleep, I might have a good night where I sleep (lightly) for 4 - 5 hours at most. Otherwise its a tossing and turning and I don't feel like I slept, but I also don't feel tired. It's so weird. =o(

I just want to sleep again on my own.

It seems most medications don't even make me feel tired. Like I don't feel effects of medication, which in itself is scary.

Anhy reassurance would be welcomed!

Thanks.

This thread was started By Hallberg about HIS/HER insomnia issues. Proper etiquette in my opinion would be that if someone else wants to talk about their concerns, they should open their own thread. Just my opinion...

sorry! i was posting on this particular thread because it seemed like hallberg and I had the same symptoms, initially. We both have a hard time repsonding to meds, don't really feel all that tired when we miss sleep, etc,

I started another thread anyway.
