Am I an insomnia minority!?

Postby zoe87 » Sat Aug 22, 2009 1:02 am

Im really shocked at how many people are on this forum that have consistant difficulty sleeping and are not given prescription medications. I realize the negative effects of being on these pills long term and that they arent for everyone, but i really didnt think that there were so many dr's out there that would be so dismissive about insomnia. I suppose that i should preface with the fact that I am bipolar so I have more trouble with sleep then most, and of course I tried all of the natural ways to get to sleep (ie. good sleep hygiene, eating right, suppliments, OTC meds, exercise) but none of those worked for me at all! Im now prescribed 2 different benzodiazipines by my psychiatrist along with my bipolar meds and still am unable to sleep more than 2-3 hours per night and I often do not WANT to sleep for days and days. Have many people been in the situation where they were desparate to sleep but no Dr. would prescribe. even short term?

Hello zoe87,

Well anyone may have this insomnia problem. Yes, it depends on some matter as good hygiene, good thinking and hard work during the day. So it means, it depends on you what you do during the day, may be anyone can have different type insomnia, Hard to solve it. It is okay. I don't know about meds for insomnia which can heal you.
