Something that helps me during the summer

Postby Saint.F » Wed Jun 26, 2013 5:04 am

The summer, for me, has always been a long sleepless season. I dread it every year and have tried so many things. I have an air conditioner in my bedroom and make sure to get the room very cold, but I still can't sleep.

Well, I tried something different a few days ago. It came to me that the problem could be the sound of the air conditioner, the way it starts and stops. Even when it's in sleep mode, there still are variations in the sound of the motor. Well, a few nights ago, I decided to try wearing ear plugs. I have to say, this has been simply a miracle for me. I'm sleeping through the night and waking up feeling rested. Unbelievable. I just wanted to share this since I have suffered agony with insomnia all my life and feel for anyone going through it. I plan on wearing ear plugs all the time now.

Oh sweet, I was actually recently thinking about ear plugs but worried they might be uncomfortable, also one of those masks to make sure there's no ambient light from the alarm clock or something. I do have a white noise machine which I think helps a bit but I still have a problem with my pets making some noise in the night. I can't shut them out of my room, they would go nuts and make a lot more noise.

Hi SaintF! i can not believe i have waited so long with these intricate theories over why i had such a light sleep. Ear plugs, what a simple solution!!! i have three teenes, and now i can sleep and they stay up and we have no problems. At the beginning the sound (have tinnitus) was very unconfortable but i love the fact of hearing sounds so far away from me....they do not disturb my sleep. Thanks so much! a breakthrough in my life!!!

are all ear plugs made of rubber? the feeling is not so pleasant, but the result is still very very positive!! :D

...when i am in the metro, the noice can be almost agressive, my psych recommended to use something (acceptable) like pretending to be hearing music.

i do not like the idea of pretending, but the other day, i had to cover my ears because the noice was a nightmare. any similar experiences?
