Needing help,.. Please...

Postby Guest » Tue Feb 21, 2006 5:17 pm

Hello,
For a while now I have been having trouble sleeping, through the night hours I get few hours of sleep or less, and when I do sleep I'll wake up from any little noises. I find myself lying there thinking or worrying all night with my eyes closed. I just don’t know what to do. I’m always getting colds, and flues cuz I never sleep. I am half asleep while typing this. Please, please can anyone give me tips or anything…? This is frustrating! Thanks for any help....

Try going to see your doctor and discuss the same thing with them. If you can't do that try doing a set of relaxing exercises before going to bed. Nothing that works up a sweat, but instead teaches you to breathe slowly and how to relax your mind.

I'm the same way. I have my days when I barely get any sleep at all, then at other times all I want to do is sleep. I went to my doctor and told them this and they gave me some pills that worked really well. Problem was after a few months the doctor didn't want to give me the pills any more because he said I was getting addicted to them. I don't understand if I'm only using what he prescribed, How am I addicted to them? Taking what I was told to take was working, but now I'm left to deal with the symptoms on my own. That's probably what you are going to have to do, learn how to relax on your own, without the help of medicine.

Goodluck...and goodnight. :)

Do not worry; your problem is created by you. You have a habit to think much before sleeping. Just relax and try to decrease your work load, and go for a walk early in the morning, this will definitely give you a relaxation.

A lot of people have many misconceptions about sleep but basically, the more you think of sleep and the more you focus on it, all the more that sleep becomes elusive. I know this may seem hard because this is exactly your problem but try not to focus too much on sleep.
