Same here. Since I was 2 days old I slep for atleast 12 hours a day. Still do to this day. 12-17 hours is what is normal for my body and mind, same for all sorts of people.

It may be that you are not eating the right foods or are not getting good exercise. Even though caffeine may help some stay awake, it isn't good for the body and can actually make you tired. Try to regulate good foods and exercise into your routine and see how that goes.

go to a doctor... i had no idea that i had a sleep disorder until after i totalled 2 volvos, got kicked out of college, and lost my job. if you think that you could have a disorder you need to get checked out so that you don't put yourself or anyone else in danger.

if you are having tired after sleeping for 12 hrs then it may be problem that you your diet is not balanced .take proteins, vitamins and minerals .may b due to weakness you fell tired but never switch to caffeine because *mod edit* caffeine addiction brings lot of problems.

Hey,
I came here looking for a solution but guess everyone is doing the same.

Anyway I kind of figured out a few things that I experimented with and that actually reduce my hypersomnia (Usually happens when I dream of something pleasant).

1) Exercise - like a gym or any kind of full body workout.
2) Bringing down my coffee intake to 3 cups a day. mostly consume it latest by 7 pm.
3) Realising a lot of things that I was objecting to in my head - DONT actually matter. So theres not importance hence no time taken to even discuss it with myself.
4) **** A SUPER DUPER TASK **** - something that keeps my mind super engaged (Especially if it is divided into 2 or 3 days ) gives me something to wake up really early with full energy.

5) To try and completely clear my mind and just make mental notes of what I'm supposed to do tomorrow.
