We always get what we deserved? I didn't realize I deserved so little, but I'll adjust lol.

I have to give you credit; this is a very intelligent discussion you have created. I feel that in life, we go from one place to the next. Whether this is getting to the grocery store and getting home quick enough to make dinner for the family or saving up for a vacation; everything we do in life is goal oriented.
Don't get me wrong, you should not think of everything you do as a goal, or else your head will explode from trying to out-do others and yourself. This is what will make you unhappy.
Instead, what I am doing is of course keeping goals, but my destination is not what I am most happy about, it is the journey! Live in the moment, take in a deep breath and smell the aromas! When you go on a jog, instead of worrying about finishing, learn to enjoy the sights and sounds! This can apply to anything you are doing, and trust me it will make your life more enjoyable!
So to end, it is not goals that make us unhappy but rather it is not living in the moment! :o

I'm not sure if goals themselves make me happy or unhappy. How I feel has something to do with the goals I set and why. I think the rest counts on if/how I pursue them, whether I fulfill them, and what happens after I do or don't.

Ich such dich unter jedem Stein
Ich schlaf mit einem Messer ein
Wo bist du? Wo bist du?

I only maintain one simple goal: do no harm. Compared to the rest of society, mine doesn't involve my getting more at the expense of others. We're a greedy, selfish, apathetic society and culture and th goals many set for themselves are too self-centered. Instead of living as a seperate thing from nature we should seek to live as part of it, and in so doing maintain an equilibrium with nature. Thus goals aren't about getting more but of maintaining a natural self-sustaining balance.

You know, I think it's a Catch-22.

For some people, goals provide a reason to wake up in the morning. They want to better oneself, and that's always a good thing. Goals serve us with a purpose to keep moving forward, no matter the situation. If we lacked the strive to move forward, imagine how out society would be today. We could still be scratching our heads on how to combat viruses.

On the other hand, goals have to be realistic and attainable. I'm not saying you can't dream big, but say one of your goals was to star in a major blockbuster movie or win the mega million lottery. Don't you think that's stretching yourself a little too far? You have a greater chance dying on your way to pick up the winning ticket.

That's my two cents. :)

Goals are the ultimate thing in life! They keep us determined and focused on the tasks we wish to accomplish. For me personally, I try to get better everyday while still loving what I've done so far.

The thing about goals is to never compare yourself to somebody else. Nobody is exactly like you and does not have the same circumstances, so don't compare yourself to others. Only focus on becoming a better you and I promise whatever goals you have you will achieve!
