Postby Russsh » Fri Feb 25, 2011 6:59 pm

I have this girl who has come to me for help ,she is on substance abuse. She has general risk taking tenancies college drop out .I need to know what are the right tests to conduct on her .I am gonna make her give an older version of the 16PF Questionnaire I have here but i dont know how outdated it is.She has had a lot of issues with relationships her boyfriend dumped her for another girl she has not dated since then has had a lot of sexual activity since then and i have given her therapy but i wont be able to understand properly until i do some good testing probably behavioural patterns and thinking patterns need to be identified. What do you suggest

You've given her therapy? Are you a therapist? She should see a professional about her problems (if you're not one), even if she has you for support. If a person actually needs help, those tests should be taken under the guidance of a psych.

I'd suggest you should take her to a proper therapist and consult . I mean if she is coming out of her own will and asking you that she needs help , take her to a therapist and consult ASAP .

I agree with the other posters. If you're not a professional, you're doing this girl a disservice by trying to treat her. If you are a professional, and this isn't your area of expertise, you're doing her a disservice by not referring her to somebody who can actually help. It's good to be supportive, but you should really help her find a therapist.
