Huhu, MissAli, "Uproar" is chapter 9 section 5, (page 114 Penguin edition) lol.

In any case, the end of a game of "Uproar" is marked by a slamming door

Inspiration!

Oh, now that I slept on it: I slammed the door, he slammed my head against the wall in exchange. I officially withdraw my recommendation

Questions for HPDs from Nons

Postby littleone7 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 12:02 pm

Hi, I'm new and I joined this forum to help understand both my mother and myself better.

My question for the HPD's is this:

Before you began therapy/ if you were to begin therapy, what would prompt you to do so? What would be a positive way to encourage you to try?

Thank you!

free helps. at the moment i am "too disordered" apparently to keep a career to afford therapy as seeing a psychologist is not usually cheap... so things like that get cut (which are, ironically, the things you need the most...).

there's no "need" to encourage me to go, I want to, I just can't afford it at the moment.

My ex HPD is going through the psychiatry part of med school. My question is, could they at some point realize that they have the disorder?

My ex HPD is going through the psychiatry part of med school (and is also coming to the end of the "honeymoon phase" with the new partner). My question is, could they at some point realize that they have the disorder?

Good luck in getting you answer from an HPD...

However..the answer usually is: They normally seek help or become aware when they hit a real low.

Hi - I have never been formally diagnosed with HPD, but I have strongly suspected that I have it, or at least a version of it, for years. I'm not sure that I would be considered fully HDP, if there is such a thing, but I definatley have some of the traits. There wasn't a single incident where I hit a real low, just a slowly building awareness that something was wrong. Then I came across a paper which spelled out the different personality traits along with their associated disorders, and it was like reading about myself; so I guess that was the moment when I informally self-diagnosed myself.

Hey KB111,

you know if you think you have a PD it might be worth your time to go into a psychologist's office and get a full screening for one. If you really do have one it will let you know for sure, and give you some guidance and on how to handle it. And if you don't, it will put your mind at ease at the very least.
