Delete ex HPD GF from Facebook or not ????

Postby Freeatlast51 » Wed Apr 20, 2011 1:19 am

I have a question...should I delete my ex HPD GF from FB ? I have been no contact with her for 3 months now. I broke it off with her in July and tried to get back with since Sept bu gave up in Jan. Got tired of pursuing her. She said "let's be friends" blah blah but have not heard shitake from her since Jan. I deleted her in Sept 2009 and it really pissed her off. I'm thinking that if I leave her as "friends" on FB then that shows I am ignoring her. However, if I delete her then that will give her "attention" and such.. I think the best thing is just to continue to ignore her...or should I delete her??? Also, why in the "!@#@" does she change her image picture every 2-3 weeks? Does she really need that much attention ????

DELETE. DELETE. DELETE. PERIOD!

Don't give her the pleasure of thinking that you still care to know about her "status." And certainly don't give her any access to your personal life. She doesn't deserve it.

When I finally tried telling my ex-HPD a couple of weeks ago that I needed to move on, she stormed out after about an eight-minute conversation. She obviously couldn't deal with being rejected. Well, it took me about eight minutes to delete her as a friend on Facebook. I should have never accepted her as a FB friend in the first place, but she insisted on it (how HPD of her!!!!).

As I said, DELETE. DELETE. DELETE. PERIOD!

Delete. I never did because I felt it was too dramatic because we were never technically a couple and I wanted to put on a strong front. You can just block their status updates from showing up in your news feed and you will not know they are there unless you check. But you can still check, which is bad.

In your "updates" section look for one of her updates and in the top right of it is an "X" box with which you can block her updates. You cant check if she blocked your status updates but why should you care?

just delete her, don't even mess with it or cause some long drawn out drama. believe me, even if you aren't checking up on her or you've hidden her status updates, she's checking up on you.

the only reason I'd keep her as a friend would be if two things were fulfilled - one, you can completely resist the temptation to 'creep' on her page and/or seek out extra information about her; and if you do by chance end up seeing something, you can look at it without getting angry or sad. in short, you've developed an 'indifference' towards her and what she does, so it really doesn't matter what she posts anymore. I don't think you're quite there yet, you still seem to think about her a lot.
for two, you could keep her as a 'friend' if your own page is rather bland and doesn't reveal too much personal information. because if it does reveal even the slightest tidbit of personal information, believe me, the HPD ex is looking at it and looking for ways to manipulate you and/or the break up situation. I don't think this one can be met by anybody. we all post things from time to time that may be considered 'personal', such as photos we took with a new boyfriend/girlfriend, mundane life details about being frustrated/happy over something, things about moving locations, mundane posts about work.. ect, ect. everything you post would give her a 'snapshot' into your life, however brief, and could be fodder for her manipulative purposes on down the road.

DELETE HER FROM YOUR THOUGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Insert "so that you can" between these two phrases. She doesn't care about you, yet you continue to invest a great deal of emotional energy in worrying about how she might react to any little thing that you do. Does that make sense? Of course it doesn't. Stop worrying about what she thinks, there isn't any reciprocity there, she isn't worrying about what you think.

Delete her so that you can get enough emotional distance from her, so that you can stop the cycle of "why did she change her profile photo?" "what does that status update actually mean?" and get your equilibrium back.

If you do, even if you find that she is

it won't affect you any longer.

Isn't that what you want?
