Do NPD's Control Hpd's?

Postby jmac » Sat May 15, 2010 2:09 pm

Hi,

Another question: Do you guys think npd men control hpd women? In this experience I've had, as treacherous as the hpd was, her npd husband treats her like garbage, undermining her in numerous ways. But do you think that npd men are best equipped to handle borderline's and histrionic women--because they pose a challenge or something?

I know npd men are not to be idolized or anything, but it seems that disordered women crush normal men, whilst they are dominated by men with strong npd traits.

Just curious...

My current support groups cannot seem to comprehend hpd, even saying that it's "no big deal". But I think otherwise. I just can't see how a hpd could marry and stay married, because their moods and emotions change too much in order for them to have a stable relationship.

So, are npd men (and women) the top of the disordered food chain?

Yes they do.

The challenge is part of it, getting the NPD to give the love that the HPD thinks she wants so she can dispose of him. Problem is the NPD loves himself too much so he has no love to give lol. Same goes for AsPDs.

I think you're talking about most manipulative / most adept at mind games. In that case AsPDs are at the top of the food chain, next are NPDs, then BPDs, then HPDs. That's not to say HPDs aren't harmful in any way. Normal people (that aren't informed on PDs) get walked all over by HPDs and can cause a lot of emotional damage.

The AsPDs/NPDs emotional detachment and tendency to only care about themselves makes all the HPDs games (that would easily work on a normal person) transparent. Plus AsPDs are paranoid and always looking for an advantage and there are other factors involved but yeah in short a HPD doesn't really stand a chance against an NPD or AsPD when it comes to mind games.
