Yes HPDs are over the top and masters of flirting but to say such a thing is frankly disgusting. Whether HPD or not this is a course, crude fairly revolting thing to say but I do not think it very representative of HPD. More representative of a slut to be honest.
A lot of people here, especially when they first discover HPD, seem to get this weird idea that everything about a person with HPD is defined by the illness. HPDs are people (as you would know!) and while they share common traits, their basic personality is theirs, not the disorder's. In this case, it sounds like this woman may or may not have HPD, but she's definitely a heartbreaker and a bit of a slut. She's bad news however you dress her. Some women just are.
I wonder why after you hearing this you still chose to have sex with her? I think most men who heard such a disgusting thing would run a mile. You also describe her as "shallow and self-obsessed", why do you as a seemingly intelligent man want to be with someone who is shallow and self-obsessed?
Yeah, and I wonder why nice, healthy, stable girls always end up dating a series of deadbeat assholes. >.< People aren't very smart, especially when their hearts (or their pants) are involved.
You seem like a very nice, thoughtful person to me and so I do not want you to take this the wrong way [...]
Well put, SoFrance. Everything you've written from here on in is absolutely 100% correct.
Terry, I'm glad you've spent some time working on yourself. Hopefully you won't fall for the same trap again. I think probably the biggest thing us 'nons' on this forum have in common is a lack of self-esteem and self-respect at the time that we became involved with an HPD. That leads us to tolerate abuse that would cause any self-respecting person to simply leave and cut contact.
