I posted a profile of myself on a dating site last week. I received an email today from the Administrator of the Dating site which is in California, I'm in Pennsylvania, that I've been thrown off of the site. It stated that she received an email that I was an abuser and had a Protection From Abuse Order filed against me in PA. The only thing that I can think of is that my ex-HPD or one of her friends most have seen my dating profile and contacted the dating site administrator. Does this sound legal. Can I be thrown off of a site for this. Sounds like my ex-HPD still hates my guts and wants to ruin me. Any thoughts?

Dating web sites are generally run by private companies or individuals, I'd imagine they have a clause in their Terms of Use allowing them to refund your money and refuse your custom. If they've written something untrue about you then you may have a chance of proving libel, but over a dating profile? Not in any way worth your time or money.

If it was me I'd want to set it right, since allowing to pass just lets more negativity into the system.
Of course fighting with it is probably exactly what the HPD would want.
