Hey,
It does sound like she has HPD, but I also saw strong OCD while reading your post. I guess that goes hand-in-hand with HPD though. There is a two-way thing here though: Your mother likes to control the family (incl. your boyrfriend), but it also seemns that he allows her to get away with it. He's old enough now to be able to put his foot down and tell her to back off, irrespective of whether she starts to cry because of it. I mean, his life simply cannot go on like this, because if things don't change now, then she will always try to control him, even when/if he gets married (...to you?!).

It appears to be more OCPD than OCD:
- excessive need for controlling relationships, situations, memories
- unreasonable frugalness
- righteous indignation (absoluteness in right vs wrong, strong opinions)
- obsession with making things safe
Many PDs share common problem areas in the brain.
