Regarding therapy....

I have to say that in my experience the therapy is only as good as the therapists knows about the disorder, and as only as good as the HPD being HONEST 100 percent about what they do.

I was talking to the Dr. not just a therapist that I went to see the best in our state and it was just him and me and I am pouring my guts out to him of things that I do and I don't know why I do these things, and want to be better but when I get this attention it gives me a thrill I guess, etc. etc. I was being totally honest on my end of things that I do. Throwing it out there and begging him to FIX ME.

Now this Dr. is not only doing therapy, but has a marriage innitiative program. So what do you think he told me about HPD?? This was 8 years ago... HE TOLD ME NOTHING!! He either never heard of it or never knew to line my symptoms up with what the textbook said, or something. Either way.. what he would say to me... is How does THAT make you feel. Well I would leave there feeling worse than when I went. Going twice a week at $200 per session for 50 minutes. I got NOTHING from therapy.

I decided I might not know what is wrong with me, but I can do better and not do these things. I CAN make the choice to be better and don't have to rely on some DR. that isn't helping to save me. It is my choice.
