Candlelight.
When the accusations reached a critical stage, ie a complaint with the state licensing agency, I did have a couple of coworkers who provided me with witness statements that enabled me to keep my license to practice my profession. I understand the HPD has been pretty much isolated at work thanks to her craziness. She had applied for a transfer to another area of the hospital, but her record has prevented any transfer. Those managers don't want her in their areas. Thanx again for the words of support.

It's interesting your HPD was a nurse. My friend was a social worker, which of course only made things worse because she knew everything! Everyone else had the mental issues, and she was the helpful, knowledgable social worker. I think that is why she left me alone when I became boring to her - I had grown up a lot and no longer accepted her crazy diagnoses of people. When I kept pushing her to defend her opinions or disagreeing with her, she didn't like it at all.
My friend also sued her ex-employer and won. It never ceases to amaze me how the HPD gets away with it - you're right, they play the victim and all they need is one or two supportive people who are naive to their ways.

What is more interesting to me is that with the HPD that I know, she suffers from all the somatic things that HPD's usually feign in order to get attention. She's always "in pain" whenever something doesn't go her way or she feels like she isn't getting attention. It was even sicker when her husband was in the hospital and she made up stories about falling on her stomach (she's pregnant) and all that when he wasn't there (I know she was lying because my husband and I were at her apartment around the time this supposedly happened) and as soon as he got out she started telling him she was sick and long story short SHE ends up going to the hospital and staying for a week, not even a full day after her husband got out of the hospital. I guess she saw all the attention that her husband was getting that SHE felt that he wasn't paying enough attention to her....
And naturally she always has "contractions" when they have a fight and she curls up into a ball and starts crying and all that nonsense.
