After reading various articles on the web - I now need your opinion
These are what I have observed:

-very quiet girl and appears very obedient and very well- behaved to an outsider who does not know her well

- believes she is already a successful entertainer although nothing concrete has come from her agent - this has been going on for 5 years - she is now 20 to 21.

- she says she is a songwriter but no one has yet heard any of her songs except for her parents who are also very secretive (parents are extremely proud of her)

- if she knows you are a musician - she will hide in another room

- hates to see programs like American Idol - hides in another room

- only child - parents let her do whatever she thinks is fit

- parents let her decide her own course of action -and supports her financially though parents are not well to do.

While living away from her parents she has been affecting the lives of other family members and possibly friends

- leads friend and relative to believe she is on the verge of sucess and so con people to house her.

- lie and has told so many of them that she can`t always keep her story straight - frequently says " I don`t know where they get that from" - contradictory "facts"

- gets angry or withdraws when questioned about her career goals.

- constantly writes in her journal, escpecially when she is frustrated or angry - don`t know what is in it - never seen what is in it and don`t want to know

- does not like to mix with people, except if they are rich or famous

- nice to you when she needs you and ignores you otherwise.

- very snobbish - pretends she is very high class - very picky about clothes

- loves to shop

- packs her stuff in many small plastic bags

- very neat person

- abandons stuff she can`t carry with

- loves money but no sense of money value

- don`t buy anything for her - not appreciated - unless of course she picked it and hope that you will pay for her at the counter

- foodwise - looks down on most people`s cooking - claims she does not like meat but when the restaurant is posh or the meat nicely presented with European sauces - you will see that she can eat a lot. Otherwise, she is prepared to eat only vegetable and fruits, and cereals - and LOTS and lots of eat - very expensive diet with very little nourishment - she looks like a 12 year old

- loves money and will con you for bus fare or fake ignorance like "where is the ATM machine " - hope that you will say - how much do you need - here it is. She can ask the same question on many different occasions. Same thing when she wants to go somewhere - she will ask on many different ocassions - "how and where to get the bus" - hoping you will drive her there.

- frequently don`t even want to be in the same space - hides in another room - the smaller the room, the better

What kind of behaviour is it - any opinions?? What do you do with a person like this

the main thing i notice is that shes shy about her "music" and a histrionic person wouldn't behave this way.

"the main thing i notice is that shes shy about her "music" and a histrionic person wouldn't behave this way."

Wrong. A histrionic will do whatever their mind tells them will get them attention. If its being shy, dramatic or faking an illness they will do it.

Still the girl this guy is describing doesn't sound HPD she sounds like a standard case of NPD.

Why I think that?

Throughout the description post the theme of this girl seems to be pathological lying, mixed heavily with devalue and discard. HPD's do this too but nowhere in the description did he say she was overly flirtatious, dramatic, and very sexual the main indicators of HPD.

"- leads friend and relative to believe she is on the verge of sucess and so con people to house her."

NPD indicator #1: preoccupation with fame, wealth, and achievement;

"- lie and has told so many of them that she can`t always keep her story straight - frequently says " I don`t know where they get that from" - contradictory "facts"

NPD is a Cluster B personality disorder and here is what the research says about Cluster B's...

Inadvertent liars

"- gets angry or withdraws when questioned about her career goals."

More Cluster B stuff...

Dissociation or Denial

"- constantly writes in her journal, escpecially when she is frustrated or angry - don`t know what is in it - never seen what is in it and don`t want to know"

Probably NPD stuff like grandiosity and entitlement would be what you'd find.

"- does not like to mix with people, except if they are rich or famous"

NPD indicator #2: ideas of perfection

A perfect person isn't going to want to mix with the commoners right?

"- nice to you when she needs you and ignores you otherwise."

NPD indicator #3: craving admiration, attention and praise; and
an exaggeration of the importance of one's experiences and feelings; lack of empathy only cares about herself etc.

"- very snobbish - pretends she is very high class - very picky about clothes"

See NPD indicator #2 but yeah this is the 4th strike for her having it.

"- very neat person"

NPD indicator #5 and we revisit NPD indicator #2 once again.

"- abandons stuff she can`t carry with"

Idealize devalue and discard...Check.

"- loves money but no sense of money value"

NPD indicator #6: shallowness
