Is a Histrionic more like a Borderline or a Narcissist?

Is a histrionic more like a borderline or a narcissist?
For me it looks more like the first, many talk about histrionics as female narcissists but I do not really see that need to feel superior to others and if a demand for attention very close to the demand for non-abandonment of the borderline.
Rather a histrionic would seem a borderline of high functioning, that is not going to cut off the arms or make a million calls desperate.
What do you think?

Jose,

The short answer is that the cluster B types do appear to have some overlaps, but they are classified as separate because there are some key differences in perceptions (of self and others), that run deep, and those key/core beliefs/perceptions have significant effect on what follows.

In the bigger picture it only matters so much anyway, but those classifications may help professionals when treating someone, a starting point, of what to work on next.

Histronics are dramatic show-offs. This is also a narcissistic trait but the difference is that histronics don't lack empathy. They want to be theatrical and seek attention but they don't have problems experiencing empathy or any other emotion in general. The majority of narcissists are people who don't like to show any emotions because, according to them, feelings are weaknesses. :D :D :D

Histrionics and narcissists are phallic. Borderliners and psychopaths are babies.

An interesting way to break it down.

No idea what the truth is, but I'll throw out my personal break down. I think in terms of we people tend to latch on to 'life themes'. I mean deep seated beliefs that affect our perception, and these are just some examples, that can be combined in any combination -

People are trying to control me.
I must be in control.
I am always right.
I am most often wrong.
The world is a scary place.
Others are essentially evil.
Others are essentially good.
Life is not fair, and I can't be happy until it is.
Others must like me.
It's a weakness to care what others think.
Emotions are a weakness.
Life is a competition.
Everything has a sexual meaning behind it.
Who will take care of me?
I am a victim.
I am a lone wolf.
I must earn love.
I am entitled to special treatment.

Just a partial list, and no particular order. Any of these is normal enough, though when taken to extremes, can be self-defeating.

Well i think that a important difference with Narcissist is that when change the partner is often for a "upgrade", but Histrionic when change the partner often is for new supply whatever "upgrade" or "downgrade", many times searching "downgrade" for more control

Well, no, that's exactly what I am not saying - I said that histronics DON'T LACK empathy. Narcissists do. :D :D :D
