I dunno about about aspiring to be a size 0, but my HPD claimed more than once that she was a size 0, though I can assure you that is not true. She was petite and maybe was a size 0 when she was a teenager, but many years later, she's definitely not. She also had a horribly poor diet that might have allowed her to sustain her weight when she was younger, but that diet has since caught up with her.

Assuming she was that size to begin with, I don't think she needed to be a size 0 or be beautiful to convince herself that she's irresistible. She constantly talked of how men were hitting on her everywhere (the bartender, the guy at the next table, some guy obviously flirting with another girl, anybody) or even "stalking" her. She may have been petite and dyed her hair an eye-catching red (which she claimed was natural), but when it came down to her features, she was not exactly pretty.

There was a discussion here at some point about how men saw their HPD as very attractive, yet, when shown her photo or solicited the opinion of one not taken with her, she often wasn't seen as any more attractive than the next girl. I'm convinced that manipulation and making a man feel so special is half her attractiveness.

You can't escape, can you? Remarkably insidious, isn't it? I am not sure whether to be disgusted or impressed.
