Seems so it is hard....I don't know that feeling/ emotion though. So...I don't know.

And you're right...the Awareness , No excuses unless you feel like buying your own BS. And that is what cracks me up when I think of it. Warped but the eject button at the same time.

you should go to the schizoid forums for answers to this question

some of the guys there (me included) completely and totally shut down our emotions because we were too empathetic, and it began to ruin us.

empathy does have a cost and for me it has been huge.

Thanks Icarus. Yes, agree, while empathy has its place, too much empathy can be disastrous.

Is it possible for this to be linked to the SPD, ASPD, NPD and BPD boards?

I think this is a topic everyone could participate in and maybe even find to be insightful.

I can cop to that to some degree as well, but not the after effects. It's brutal on either side of the equation, but in the vast majority it seems, the scars are life time.

It's the Balance out of kilter and how to bring it back...can it be done? Claw at the Awareness?
Worth a shot though, the worst that can happen is failure and that's guaranteed if you don't even try anyways...but it may not be a total fail if it makes a difference for even only one.

Tough one for me I admit. Like another poster said that empathy ruined them, for me, having an oversensitive temperment and abusive parent ruined me. Though 'ruined' is probably a strong word.

So what alternative is there for a child, but to adapt to survive? Even if that means 'buying your own BS'.
Such denial is nothing more than doublethink anyway. Whether subconscious or not.

Self-awareness is a double-edged sword. Nice to wake up from the dream but it is hard because it exposes those feelings and for some those feelings are incredibly painful, which is the cause for the denial in the first place.

No easy answers.

Love the discussion as long as others play nice.

At the heart of the matter it is a very sensitive topic, and a lot of room for discussion, but yes, the topic will end if people don't play nice. Gentle footsteps apply.

Lovely and yes so agree on a personal level. The very thing all us cluster B personalities struggle with.

BlankIdentity, it's that sensitivity that is so beautiful to me. It showed in your anger in your earlier posts, but how you dealt with it, made my blood boil...so that is on me.

Balance. That is the trick...with my parents, that is done. Broken people having children they should not have. Oh well..I am here and make the best of it. It's pretty decent.

Chain of Being. People are really quite beautiful, but sometimes, need to give them a chance to shine. Others, well....best stay out of my way.
